Instruments taught  Voice, Piano
Education  M. Mus., Voice Performance, Indiana University-Bloomington; B.Mus., University of Delaware, Newark, DE
Affiliations  MTNA, NATS, NVMTA
Activities/Services   45 and 60 minute lessons, performance opportunities, festival competition participation opportunities, incentive programs, service projects, audition preparation
Additional Info/Specialties  With over 15 years of experience, I teach private and class voice (ages 9-adult - inquire about lessons for students under 9 years of age), all levels of ability. I also teach private beginner to intermediate piano (ages 5-adult).
I turned to full-time teaching after a rewarding performing career in New York City, performing at venues such as Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, under some of the world's leading conductors. I served as a Teaching Artist for the Metropolitan Opera Guild's Education Wing, where I realized that teaching music was my true calling.
My students have won scholarships for prestigious college music programs. They have placed 2nd in Virginia All-State HS Chorus (2015), 1st in Virginia All-District MS Chorus (2015), and regularly are given leads in school and regional musical theatre productions such as the Bel Cantati Opera Company, the Alliance Theatre, and the Pied Piper Theatre. They have won numerous scholarships to area private schools, and successfully auditioned for the ACDA National Honors Chorus, the Virginia All-State Chorus, and the FCPS, LCPS and PWCS' All-County and All-District Choruses, and the Fairfax County Choral Society.
I combine expertise, warmth and sense of humor to create a comfortable learning environment for all my students. I believe every student has a unique voice (be it through singing or playing!) - and my job is to help them find that voice
