For the Music Teacher
We are an association of music teachers providing instruction and performance opportunities on orchestral instruments, piano, and voice. We provide a noncompetitive, friendly and enriching environment for the exchange of ideas and the exploration of teaching practices. Membership application forms are available online here.

We organize workshops and occasional master classes for our members.  For our students, we offer Sunday afternoon recitals and an annual Ensemble Festival featuring six
grand pianos and other instruments.  FLMF owns a harpsichord, built by Richard Kingston, which is available on a rotating basis to teachers who have attended a class on its care and handling. Click here for more information about the harpsichord.

For the Parent
Looking for a music teacher in Fairfax or Loudoun County?  Consult our directory to
locate a teacher convenient to you. You may email teachers directly to see if they have openings. Click here to browse our teacher directory.  Our members’ efforts, based on demand, are devoted primarily to students from pre-kindergarten through high school. Older students are also very welcome.

For the Music Student
Our students have several non-competitive performance opportunities throughout the year.  The Ensemble Festival is our largest and most popular event – since 1986. Over 200 students perform each year on acoustic pianos, accompanied by instrumentalists, under the direction of a conductor.  Music has been specially commissioned for this event.  Students also have the opportunity to perform in Sunday afternoon recitals at different locations.  Occasional master classes are organized for piano and on the harpsichord owned by FLMF.  Click here to view more on the Ensemble Festival.
