Jim Litzelman: “Romantic Period Repertoire” Presentation will involve some pieces that might not be commonly taught; also included will be finding an approach to teaching technique that will allow our students to remain injury-free for a lifetime.

Roundtable Discussion with Suzanne Smith. Suzanne will monitor a roundtable discussion among members including challenges, issues, and ideas within our own music studios.

Piano Ensemble Festival. All business related to the Piano Ensemble Festival will be
discussed. Music packets will be put together for each teacher for groups his/her students

Nancy Davis: “The Importance of Feedback Through Technology.” A technology workshop focusing on the various types of recording/video-taping, etc. that are available, as well as posting information/videos online through YouTube or on a website.

Jennifer Baker: “Making Improvisation Easy.” Most music students are being trained to decode notes on the page, but what about making music that's not on the page? Students need to know where improvisation is called for and how to do it. Improvisation can also be used in the lesson to reinfore music theory concepts such as rhythm and scales. Jennifer will present some simple improvisation formulas, and give teachers some tools to incorporate fun improvisation activities into lessons.
