An opportunity for piano performance and judged feedback.

About the Event

-  Registration Period  -  October 1 - 19, 2023 (click on "Register and Pay" below)

-  Registration Fee  -  $21.00 per student.  All fees are non-refundable.

-  Open to all ages  -  including adults

-  Audition Format  -  student performs for two judges and then is free to leave

-  Students will perform two memorized pieces composed in two different musical time periods from the following list:

          Baroque

          Classical

          Romantic/Impressionistic

          Contemporary (must reflect a contemporary idiom, for example - Dissonant harmonies, Fragmented melodies, Irregular Meter,

          Ostinato Bass, Jazz, Ragtime, Non-traditional notation)

-  No arrangements or abridgments will be allowed.  Transcriptions are allowed.

-  Adult students may play with music.

-  Teachers will enter students in the following levels:

          Beginner             5 minutes

          Intermediate        7 minutes

          Advanced           10 minutes

-  Students whose pieces exceed the time limit should expect to be stopped by the judges, but won't be penalized.

-  Teachers will be required to judge for the duration of the event and will be emailed judging guidelines.

-  Teachers will be notified of their students' performance times approximately two weeks prior to the event.  

-  Performance time requests may NOT be made.

-  Students will receive a certificate of participation, judged comments, and a rating.
