MEETING CALENDAR 2023-2024

Meetings take place the second Wednesday of September, October, November, January, March, and May.

​

FLMF will provide both online and in person meetings/programs for the 2023-2024 season depending on the location and needs of the program presenters.

Snow Policy - If Fairfax County is closed due to inclement weather, business meetings and programs are rescheduled for the following Wednesday.  If Fairfax County has a delayed opening due to inclement weather, we will continue with our meeting and program as scheduled.  Last minute changes will be advised by email.

MusicLink Foudation - Joanne Hartoutounian

MusicLink's mission is  "Any child who has musical potential derserves the opportunity to nurture this talent to its full extent.  The MusicLink Foundation reaches out to low income families by linking these students with professional music teachers willing to reduce thier fee to make the lessons more affordable for the child."

​

Joanne will give a presentation on how MusicLink fulfills its mission statement.  FLMF contributes funds to MusicLink each December with the proceeds from our Holiday Serenades at Dulles Town Center.

Teacher Roundtable - Moderated by Annie Feigles

A teacher favorite!  Teachers will submit topics for discussion on the many aspects of running a private music studio.  Pleases submit your topic idea(s) to Annie Feigles by October 4.

November 11 -  Fall Soiree!  The Soiree is on a Saturday (no Wednesday morning meeting in November)

Teachers will have a socail gathering from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.  Teachers are asked to bring an appetizer or dessert to share.  FLMF will provide beverages.  Teachers are encouraged to bring partners or friends.

January 10  -  FLMF Bookclub!

Members will read and discuss "Every Good Boy Does Fine" (A Love Story, in Music Lessons) by Jeremy Denk

​

This will be an online event, facilitated by Annie Feigles.  An zoom invitation will be sent by email to members.

March 13

Let's Celebrate International Women's Month!

FLMF will be celebrating female composers at our March meeting.  Members are encouraged to choose a female composer, present a brief biography of her life and perform one of her compositions for the group.  If members are not comfortable performing or the work requires multiple instruments, etc.  members may play a recording of the composer's work.
